CRADLE MOUNTAIN LODGE WELCOMES A NEW FURRY FRIEND

Wednesday, 8 April 2009

Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge has become the first corporate sponsors of a baby Tasmanian Devil called Fury, born into the nearby Tasmanian devils sanctuary, Devils@Cradle.

The Lodge's sponsorship will assist Fury in all important stages of his life and he will remain at the sanctuary as a breeding male within the Devils@Cradle breeding program.

Unlike his name, Fury has an extremely quiet nature and is often handled by keepers on public tours at Devils@Cradle, so guests staying at Cradle Mountain Lodge can meet him close up and maybe even get the chance to pat him.

"Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge are conservation minded resort and are located just a few hundred metres from the sanctuary, our businesses have a strong working relationship," said Managing Director, Wade Anthony. "Sincere thanks to Leigh Reid and Cradle Mountain Lodge for their support in the conservation of the Tasmanian Devil."

Cradle Mountain Lodge is a wilderness retreat nestled high in the Tasmanian wilderness on the edge of the World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park. This superb escape showcases the best Cradle Mountain has to offer, with warm hospitality, sensational local food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds.
