Ayers Rock Resort’s exclusive restaurant in the desert, Tali Wiru, scooped two prestigious awards in October 2015. The unique dining experience won the Territory Taste Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category in the 2015 Tourism Central Australia Awards, and was named Best Tourism Themed Restaurant in the 2015 Australian Hotel Association (NT) Australian Liquor Marketers Gold Plate Awards.
Andrew Williams, Voyages Chief Executive Officer, commented: “These two accolades are a great achievement and are testament to the dedication of the Tali Wiru team at Ayers Rock Resort to providing a unique dining experience with an authentic Indigenous feel for our guests.”
Tali Wiru is an open air gastronomic experience with spectacular views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Available nightly from 1 April to 15 October, guests enjoy Champagne and canapés as the sun sets to the sound of a didgeridoo, followed by a table d’hote four-course dinner matched with premium Australian wine and captivating stories from an Indigenous storyteller.
The 9th annual Tourism Central Australia Awards were announced at the Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre in Alice Springs on 2 October, with the awards celebrating outstanding products, successes and the hard work of the tourism industry in Central Australia.
The annual Australian Hotel Association (NT) ALM Gold Plate Awards took place at SKYCITY Darwin on 12 October 2015, attended by more than 380 people including Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Hon Adam Giles MLA. The awards recognise the diversity of restaurants in the Northern Territory, as well as the importance of hospitality staff.
