Last night (Saturday 2 November), Opera Australia performed an exclusive concert in the spiritual heart of Australia with Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and Bruce Munro’s Field of Light Uluru as the backdrop. As the sun set on the dramatic landscape the guests were seated under the stars and the intimate concert began with Lyndon Terracini introducing each aria with a wonderful anecdote, ensuring a performance as unique as the destination itself.
During the extraordinary concert, some of Opera Australia’s finest singers including Natalie Aroyan, Lorina Gore, Angela Hogan, Simon Kim and Haotian Qi performed famous arias from Bizet, Puccini, Rossini and Delibes, accompanied by a chamber orchestra and conducted by Tahu Matheson.
This first ever Opera Australia performance at Uluru sold out in just five days, a wonderful celebration of the destination a week following the closure of the Uluru climb.

"This weekend’s concert has been a resounding success. Incredible experiences such as Opera Australia performing at Ayers Rock Resort ensure that the destination remains vibrant and offers guests a variety of reasons to visit, which is especially important following the closure of the Uluru Climb last weekend,” said Grant Hunt, Voyages CEO.
